Thoughts

I owe more to my Auntie Anne than I could ever repay. When I was in my late teens and a student my parents and siblings all went to Australia and I remained here alone. Auntie Anne was the only family I had at that time. I often stayed with her. I relied on her wisdom and insight for some of the biggest decisions I have ever made. She was there for me at my marriage. The births of our first four children were special to her and she supported me through the loss of our first son. Bonds were built during those years that only strengthened over the subsequent decades. Most of all, she encouraged me in my Christian faith. She was a dedicated sponsor and supporter during the 17 years we spent in Christian mission in Madagascar. Now she has been released into glory and sees her Saviour Jesus face to face. I am glad she is there, free from suffering and debility, and one day I will join her. In the grand scheme of things that day is not so far away.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
